Ok, this is admittedly my second year playing so I suppose technically I'm still a novice, but this irks me alittle- so I wanted to ask....
Do leagues typically charge for add/drops? Or are they normally free? Last year, it was brutal in the sense it would cost a buck per, but it also kept craziness out of the league.
This year, its free- (money league- but free add/drops) which is nice if I need someone- but one guy in particular is literally dropping his ENTIRE lineup every week and picking up another nutsload of players.. I would find it humorous except for the fact that based on law of average, if I am looking for someone, chances are hes selected them. Last week it was 6 add/drops within about 10 minutes- this week, it was 6. Week prior, 5... granted, hes winless- but its tough to pick anyone up when someone is pulling that, know what i mean?
I'm asking if its just me because when someone posted on our msg board about it, and I agreed w them, I got accused of basically being sour grapes.. so maybe I'm wrong? Maybe I have no business being frustrated. I just know last year, when it was a buck per, none of this was occuring and it seemed more reasonable. Ah well.

i have no problems with it. however what is suggests to me is that the overall group is pretty thin and that he doesn't have any studs to keep. is this guy winning every week?
in how it affects you, you need to be scouting and grabbing people if you want them. trading hidden gems you find and selling while high stock should help you long term.

Well, thats the thing- I get the impression hes either got someone in his ear, or he has a website, that basically talks about 'whose hot' that given week, then goes out and literally grabs everyone.... and no- hes winless- its not that... its just that I *do* scout (more than i should, just ask my boss ) but, because he does this literally the minute the weekend games end, there's been 3 times I myself wanted someone to find they were gone as soon as the wire was opened, and it seems like its happening to others. Dont get me wrong- I dont think hes going to be successful BECAUSE hes so quick to revamp his roster and has no foundation- its just frustrating that you go to grab someone and they arent there, not because another team needed him too and snatched him, but because someones literally just dropping 6 adding 6 every week like clock work. My team is pretty solid. It was just somewhat irritating i guess. I guess its just me though. I'm not 'angry' or anything... just sort of a 'wtf' moment - like i said, maybe its commonplace, thats why i was asking- I've only been playing for 2 yrs. Thanks for the response.

frustrating yes but that is the joy of the waiver wire. we all hope to avoid it but it certainly is sweet to grab a gem when you can get them

otownmarine - Here is my suggestion to you. if it isn't against your league rules there really is no use complaining about it. Just bring it up before next season and perhaps you can do something about it. In my mind there are three EXCELLENT ways to avoid this scenario: a) Limit each teams free agent transactions to a certain amount per year b) Come up with a certain fake dollar value and each team bids for free agents. If you start off with 200, and someone bids 27 on Chris Perry and wins, he has 173 free agent dollars left to spare the rest of the year. Once he is down to zero his free agent fun is done. c) Freeze players once their games start until say Wednesday nights when your Waiver Wires go through. Those not selected automatically become a free for all. Either way, this guy is not breaking the rules right now and he is winless. Let him enjoy his season. I give props to him as he is trying to put together a win. Now if it becomes obvious that he is just doing this to spite a league, block him all together. And don't forget about the Bruno Boys Sunday Morning Marathon! Started off at 10am EST with the Fantasy Gridiron Live show starring our own Marc Caviglia followed by at 1130am EST our Live Q and A starring Bruno Boys' Marc Caviglia, Mike Whooley and Chris Ziza with Bruno Boys Larry hitting these forum boards. Best of luck! -Bruno Boys Ziza www.brunoboys.net

In my big money league waivers begin Thursday at 12am, and they are conducted worst to first based on standings. Once everyones initial selections are through, it opens up an is limited to two drops/adds per week. We've been playing this league for about 8 years now and this has been my favorite method for waivers thus far. In regards to your issue, I think I would probably be looking at everyone on his team each Sunday. My guess is if you are patient and keep an eye on his drops, you could probably nab his players and get something better than you were expecting off waiver.

Very good point as well. With all this adding and dropping, there is bound to be one golden nugget to slip through the cracks! -Bruno Boys Ziza www.brunoboys.net
